An expanded version of the eighth annual Sound Travels event will tie together three different streams of activity.
The first is the participation of New Adventures in Sound Art in the soundaXis festival of music, architecture and acoustics with a co-presented concert at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) auditorium with Contact Contemporary Music that will unveil a new 12 channel spatialization system for New Adventures in Sound Art events.
The second is the commissioning of two outdoor site specific sound sculptures for Toronto Island by Barry Prophet and by the team of Kristi Allik and Robert Mulder for the Sign Waves installation series which will also include its annual installment of indoor works at the beautiful St. Andrew-by-the-Lake church .
Finally, the apex of the summer will be weekend-long activities in August that include guerilla sound art performances by Peter Hatch and outdoor concerts using the expanded spatialization system unveiled at soundaXis. |
