3) NAISA Youth
Initiative Updates
The NAISA youth education initiative, now in its third year, facilitates
the creation of art entirely through sound, radio, electronics and/or
performance through exploration and collaboration and is targeted toward
youth at high schools, arts centers and community centers. If you are a
teacher or run a community centre and are interested in the workshops,
please contact naisa@naisa.ca.
MAKING ART WITH SOUND
August 16-20, $50
The NAISA Space, 601 Christie St #252
NAISA is inviting youth aged 15-18 to create art entirely with Sound,
Radio, Electronics, and/or Performance through exploration according to
their own individual interest - through building a NAISAtron, a
micro-transmitter, or working with basic recording and editing software.
All equipment will be provided by New Adventures in Sound Art and no
experience is necessary. Please contact Kristie at outreach@naisa.ca . Limited spots

4) Sound Travels
Festival of Sound Art
June 26 - September 26, 2010
Sound Travels brings sound art once again to the Artscape Wychwood
Barns. This 12th edition of the annual festival will feature interactive
installations, performances, workshop intensive, 3-sided square (part of
the New Music Marathon co-presented with Contact Music Ensemble), and
the Toronto Electroacoustic Symposium. Featured artists include:
Marcelle Desch=C3=AAnes, David Eagle, Ned Bouhalassa, D. Andrew Stewart,
Satoshi Morita, Rose Bolton, Rob Cruickshank, and more. Check www.naisa.ca for updates.
5) SOUNDplay
Festival
October 2 - November 28, 2010
SOUNDplay is a meeting point for experimentation in sound art and new
media encouraging new avenues for exploration. Featured artists
include: Women With Kitchen Appliances, Eric Powell, Michael Waterman,
Micheline Roi, Finger, Deb Sinha, Krista Martynes, Julien-Robert Legault
Salvail and Avatar Orchestra Metaverse. www.naisa.ca for updates.

New Adventures in Sound Art is a non-profit organization that presents
performances and installations spanning the entire spectrum of
