of May 2009.
Andrew O'Connor provides a daily diet of radio art culled from
submissions received in NAISA's call for submissions. Also included
are live performances, profiles of artists in the Wychwood community,
work created by youth in the NAISA youth Radio residency (in
collaboration with Theatre Direct's Round Trip Home) and re-broadcasts
of Deep Wireless performances.

Deep Wireless/Outfront commissions broadcast
CBC's Outfront will be broadcasting four special radio art pieces
commissioned jointly by New Adventures in Sound Art and Outfront. This
year listen to cutting edge new works by Paolo Pietropaolo, Andra
McCartney, Hélène Prévsot and Iain Reid.
Youth from Oakwood Collegiate participated for 11 weeks to make radio
for Deep Wireless through Theatre Direct's 2009 school residency Round
Trip Home.
Upcoming collaboration include participation with the Royal
Conservatory Community Outreach's Unsigned Hype programme in May.
NAISA gratefully acknowledges the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an
agency of the Government of Ontario, the Laidlaw Foundation, the
Ontario Arts Council and the SOCAN foundation for their financial
support of the NAISA Youth Initiative.

This 11th edition of the Sound Travels will once again feature an
expanded set of indoor and outdoor performances, installations,
SOUNDwalks, artist talks the Sound Travels Intensive (3 days of
workshops and concerts) and the 3rd annual Toronto Electroacoustic
Symposium. Featured artists include Nicolas Bernier, Annette Vande
Gorne, Ken Gregory, Ken Emig, Ben Thigpen and Barry Prophet + more.
September 26 to October 31, 2009
SOUNDplay is a meeting point for experimentation in new media and
sound art pushing the boundaries and encouraging new fusions of image,
sound and text. This 8th edition of the annual festival will feature
performances, installations, artist talks and workshops. Artists (with
funding to be confirmed) include Jane Tingley, Nancy Tobin, the
collaborative duo of Pierre Hébert with Stefan Smulovitz and many
more TBA.
NEWS: The Canadian Association for Sound Ecology will be holding its
4th Conference/Retreat Negotiating Space/Place in the Changing
Soundscape June 12-14, 2009 at the Haven on Gabriola Island, BC.
Speakers include Helmi Jarviluoma, Keiko Torigoe, Hildegard
Westerkamp, Barry Truax, Eric Powell and Charlie Fox. For more
