1) NAISA Grand Opening, Media Launch November 15th 1-4pm
the new NAISA space - Artscape Wychwood Barns, 601 Christie Street, Studio #172
New Adventures in Sound Art is celebrating its move with a grand opening on November 15th. Launching the NAISAtron and the NAISA youth initiative, Opening ceremonies with special speakers begin at 1:30pm
We are inviting the media, general public, educators and interested parties to celebrate the launch of the NAISAtron and listen to the many works that have been created so far by the youth in the five youth residencies we created and/or participated in so far in 2008. The NAISAtron was created by Rob Cruickshank for use in the NAISA youth initiative and for DIY artists who love to make sound electronically. Kits will be available to purchase at the launch. NAISA gratefully acknowledges the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario, the Laidlaw Foundation and the SOCAN foundation for their financial support of its NAISA youth initiative.
The NAISA youth initiative is targeted toward youth at high schools, arts centers and community centers. If you are a teacher or run a community centre and are interested in being a part of this youth initiative, email naisa@naisa.ca.
