Heard 11:45 AM from Monday to Thursday mornings on CBC Radio One, Out Front is making incredible strides in giving access to the airwaves to voices not heard from before. Four programs the week of the May 19 will feature Deep Wireless commissions for Out Front by Mark Brownell, Dan Hart, Reena Katz, and Kathy Kennedy.

Missing Sense

TORONTO EC(h)OLOCATOR

On Sunday May 25 at 11 PM, Michelle Nagai and Treetheater Projects, in cooperation with Jim Bailey's Missing Sense / Electric Storm, will present an EC(h)OLOCATOR live broadcast from the studios of CKLN 88.1 FM in Toronto. EC(h)OLOCATOR is a radio project that's touring community stations in the US and Canada from May to October of this year. Community members are invited to participate by collecting field recordings, going on soundwalks and contributing to the live broadcast in the studio. EC(h)OLOCATOR is about deepening the connection between place and creativity, providing access to community media and giving a voice to all who choose to participate with open ears. Quick Stop Art Spot

The name delineates fast and spontaneous coverage of local heroes that make art for radio play. Here you will find the sound art of the Century: techno groundhogs, subway yoga, 20 minutes of feedback, and an interaction with an artist taking blood pressure of mall patrons with a bicycle pump. Hosted by Chandra Bulucon and heard at 2 PM on Wednesdays on CKLN 88.1 FM.

Radio Music Gallery is heard every Friday from 10 to 11 AM on CIUT 89.5 FM. The program showcases artists appearing at the Music Gallery, one of Toronto's landmark institutions for new and experimental music.

Feedback Monitor

Two hours of new and obscure techno, IDM, trip-hop down tempo, noise, ambient, post-rock and other stuff that falls somewhere in between Tuesday night at 10 on CIUT 89.5 FM. May 6th begins a two-week series titled RADiO iN AMBiENCE featuring experimental artists making extensive use of radio as a live ambient sound source, including live radio broadcasts of the Feedback Monitor.

Audible Woman

The Audible Woman program has a long standing history of presenting new music and experimental sound art by women artists and is hosted by Toronto composer Sarah Peebles. Audible Woman is heard the first Wednesday of every month on CIUT 89.5 FM from 6 to 8 PM. Listen to the May 7th edition with guest host Juliet Palmer featuring works created for radio by women.
